Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend – February 19-22, 2015
Are you a runner? Or do you prefer the excitement of cheering from the sidelines? Either way, you will have a blast during the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Sponsored by the Children’s Miracle Network, this weekend is chock full of fun events focused on women’s fitness and health. There are activities for participants of all ages, with shorter runs for younger kids. Best of all, your favorite Disney princesses will be there cheering on the runners as they make their way through this magical setting. Here are some of the highlights.
1. Pasta in the Park Party
Join other race participants, and their families and friends, for this tremendous feast at Epcot on Friday and Saturday night. You’ll get to enjoy a buffet-style meal, meet some of your favorite Disney characters, and see the amazing Reflections of Earth laser and fireworks show.
2. Health and Fitness Expo
The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is race headquarters for participants, open all weekend long. Stop here to get your race number, shirt, and official gEAR bag. You should also take some time to check out the newest in fitness gear and gadgets on display. The Expo also features a series of speakers addressing topics such as training strategies, racing techniques, and nutritional guidelines.
3. The Big Race
If you’re up for the challenge, take part in the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday; if 13.1 miles is too long, you can opt for the 10K on Saturday instead, or do the 5K on Friday morning. Individual registration is full, but there are still spaces available through our charity partners for both individuals and teams. Check out a list of participating charities at http://www.rundisney.com/princess-half-marathon/registration/ – charity-groups. Your little princes and princesses can get in on the fun with one of runDisney’s kid’s races.
Remember, DVC Land is here to help with all of your Disney reservation needs. That way you can spend more time training and less time worrying about your travel arrangements.
